Bullion coins from the sea

I sometimes think that my life has changed too much recently. In the past, I used to have a lot of friends who were always willing to do something crazy from time to time, like, let"s say, go scuba diving or rock climbing. I remember Ann very well. She was an experienced scuba diver who would teach me the basics. I was a quick learner so she soon took me on a trip to the French coast. There we hired a small boat, packed our equipment and sailed off. I remember that it was a long day and we managed to find lots of interesting things at the bottom. I still keep the gold bullion I found that day. There are ten coins, all of them made of genuine gold and all of them quite old. They come from the sixteenth century. Who might have lost them? And how? We found them near the coast so I don"t think it could have been an experienced sailor. Or perhaps, somebody had lost them by accident, without even realising it. Or they might have drowned during the storm. Their boat might have sunk and they felt too weak to swim to the shore. But we did not find anything else at this particular spot, just the bullion coins. As if they were the only thing that had sank there. Perhaps one day I will be able to come back to the place with my own equipment and explore it once again.
